    Excessive margins fuelled corruption in orthopaedics, says NPPA

    The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority’s decision to cap the prices of knee implants was based on its conclusion that excessive trade margins were sustaining a system of ‘commissions’, especially to doctors and hospitals, which was “the biggest reason for price distortion and the root cause of unethical practices in the system of orthopaedic healthcare”.
