PM Imran Khan responding to opposition calling him ‘Selected PM’

• PM congratulated members of his government and allies for their participation in the budget session.

Prime Minister Imran Khan broke his silence on the word ‘Selected Prime Minister’used for him by the opposition.

While addressing in the National Assembly, PM Imran Khans said that those whose political career was manufactured in the nursery of military dictatorship are calling him selected.

Quoting from a book by former US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, the prime minister said:

“The cases against Nawaz Sharif were quashed at the behest of the US during the tenure of General Pervez Musharraf.”

“The Americans collaborated to have the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) signed because it was in their interest,” he added.

He also said Condoleezza Rice was a secretary of state and its biography showed that those talking about selected were themselves manufactured in the nursery of military dictatorship.

Taking a jibe at Shahbaz Sharif:

PM Iran Khan also took a jibe at opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif saying that Shahbazgave a speech about rupee devaluation, but he failed to tell that why the dollar soared.

“It is because the previous government had left $19.5 billion in account deficit, largest in Pakistan’s history,” PM said.

Explaining the major reason:

PM Imran Khan said that the major reason for the shortfall of US dollars in Pakistan is the money laundering carried out by the previous governments.

He said the opposition cannot talk about the dollar when they are themselves responsible for the current economic crisis.

Furthermore, the premier congratulated members of his government and allies for their participation and for delivering quality speeches in the budget session.

He especially congratulated and praised the Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar for his conduct and composure.
