The Government to return Rs 4 billion to Hajj Pilgrims

• The government decided to return over Rs4.5 billion to Hajj Pilgrims.
• For the first time in history, the Saudi government provided an e-visa facility to Pakistan.
• Government is making all efforts to provide facilities to Hajj pilgrims and in this regard, five apps have been developed by the Religious Affair Ministry.

The federal government has decided to return over Rs4.5 billion to Hajj Pilgrims.

Hajj pilgrims with residence near Masjid Al-Haram will be returned Rs30,000. whereas those with residence away from the mosque will be refunded Rs58,000.

Minister for Religious Affairs Sahibzada Noor-ul-Haq Qadri also told that the government has decided to return the hefty amount back to Government Hajj Scheme pilgrims. The amount has been saved through residence contracts.

While talking to media, he said the amount has been saved from the accommodation, catering, transport, and other charges by ensuring the judicious utilization of pilgrims’ money.

He has directed the relevant departments to calculate the exact saved amount so that it could be refunded to the pilgrims as soon as possible.

He further said that the hefty amount has been saved despite the appreciation in Dollar and Riyalprice as comparing to the rupee.

According to Hajj Policy 2019, the government scheme Hajj package is Rs436,000 for Northern Region and Rs426,000 for Southern Region.

For the first time in history, the Saudi government has provided the e-visa facility to Pakistan. This facility is provided by the Saudi government to only four countries and Pakistan if the fifth one.

The government is making all efforts for the facilitation of Hajj pilgrims by providing them maximum facilities during their stay in the holy land. All the pilgrims will get proper Hajj training before their journey for the pilgrimage.

The Religious Affairs Ministry has also developed five Apps through which Hujaj can get all types of information from starting their journey until performing hajj besides learning Hajj specific supplications.
