It is up to States to take action on cow vigilantes: Centre to Supreme Court

The Centre on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that while it is against "cow vigilantism by private persons", any action against such people has to be taken by States and not the Centre. The top court then asked the Centre and states to file their response on how they will prevent cow vigilantism.
