Temptation – A poem written by Saubia Sohail

Temptation – A poem written by Saubia Sohail

I wait patiently for his call,
The minutes turn to hours and the days are long,
He knows I’m suffering he knows I’m alone.
Nothing can break our unseen bond.
He will come back when the time is right,
I have to battle the anxiety that’s building inside.

But I will not break my promise and put down the phone,
I can’t let temptation rule my thoughts.

He’s a giant on the outside a man of steal,
With a fragile heart which I can only see.
I know he is caught in a whirlwind of pain,
I want to help,I want to ease it all away.
The wounds are deep and the healing is slow,
I need to see his face to pacify my soul.

But I will not break my promise and put down the phone,
I can’t let temptation rule my thoughts.

Has he eaten properly ,has he slept at all?
Did he take his medicines to help him stay strong?
Is he pacing up and down, stressed and shocked?
Fearing for today and what the future may unfold.
I just want to hold him and say that I care,
My hands begin to fidget I’m filling with despaire.

But I will not break my promise and put down the phone,
I can’t let temptation rule my thoughts.
