According to a special directive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Federal Board of Revenue has started commercial activities at Gwadar Port. According to the FBR, the change in transshipment policies by the government has helped make Gwadar Port more active.

As a result of Pakistan’s improved transit policy, international transit activities have started at Pakistani ports, especially at Gwadar port. According to Gwadar Pro, as a result of the new policies, 200 tons of fresh fish was sent to China.

Haji Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Trade and Investment, said in a recent tweet on the micro-blogging website Twitter that the Ministry of Commerce and Pakistan Customs had successfully sent the fish to China.

The fish have been shipped in eight cargo containers, he added. It is hoped that this will be an encouraging start to our transshipment policy and increase Gwadar Port operations. The Trade Adviser also said that the rules have been amended to facilitate free movement of containers.

On the other hand, the FBR has also made it clear to the nation that Gwadar is now ready to become an international transport hub.
