Pakistan Railways decides to add 230 high speed passenger coaches

To modernize Pak Railways, the Ministry of Railways has decided to procure 230 high speed passenger coaches.

The 230 passenger coaches will include 80 economy class, 80 AC class, 30 AC parlor, 20 luggage vans and 20 brake vans.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways, these passenger coaches will be procured in two phases. Tender notices have also been issued for the procurement of 46 coaches in the initial phase.

According to the Ministry of Railways, only 46 passenger coaches will be imported from abroad, while the remaining 184 coaches will be manufactured in the second phase at the Carriage Factory in Islamabad.
