Preparations for laying a new network of motorways in the country. According to details, the PTI federal government has started preparations to lay a network of more motorways in the country. According to sources in the Ministry of Communications, construction of several new motorways will begin soon in the country. It has been decided to start construction of 4 new motorways Hyderabad Sukkur, Dir Swat, DI Khan Peshawar, Sialkot Kharian Rawalpindi this year.

Construction of the most important of these, the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, will begin in April this year. With the completion of this project, Peshawar-Karachi Motorway will be completed. The Sukkur to Hyderabad Motorway will be 306 km long.

Last year, it was reported that foreign companies showed no interest during the tender for the 306 km long motorway project, with only one company bidding.
It was informed that construction of Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M6) at a cost of Rs. 204.28 billion under C-Pack would start by the end of last year, however, the project was later delayed due to various reasons.

And now it is reported that preparations for the launch of the project have been completed. With the completion of this motorway, the travel time on the eastern route from Peshawar to Karachi will be reduced.

It will be the fourth longest motorway in the country. Preliminary work on the construction of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway was started in 2016, but the project was delayed after the PTI government came to power. Then last year ECNEC approved the start of construction of the project.

On the other hand, sources in the Ministry of Communications said that construction of not only Sukkur-Hyderabad, but also many other motorway projects would be started this year. These include Swat Motorway Phase 2, DI Khan Peshawar Motorway, Dir Motorway and other projects.
