A brief history of the case:

A special court was constituted to hear the treason case of Pervez Musharaf. The special court announced their verdict in December 2019 which stated the following:

• Pervez Musharaf has committed the treason.
• He should be sentenced to death.
• In case he passes away before the punishment, his dead body should be dragged at the D-Chowk Islamabad.

The decision sparked a huge controversy mainly because of the last part of the decision. It was declared an inhumane attitude even by the critics of Pervez Musharaf.

So now on January 13th, 2020, the Lahore Highcourt dismissed that special court. Declaring that the formation of the special court was not constitutional in the first place.
