The following images pose a question, is this what a complete lockdown looks like?
When the corona pandemic struck Pakistan, the Province of Sindh was the first to go into lockdown for which it got many brownie points from media. A month later the condition of Sindh is worsening by the hour with people observing a directionless approach from Sindh Govt.
The enforcement of the unplanned complete lockdown in the Province in the last week of March has led to a complete standstill of the lives of those living below the poverty line.
Sindh government not only failed to efficiently implement the complete lockdown in the Province but also failed to provide ration to the deserving people forcing them out of their houses and on the roads. The following images pose a question, is this what a complete lockdown looks like?
Besides this negligence, sadly due to the sheer rigidity of the Sindh Government the province can be seen falling prey to numerous other ailments like starvation, instability and an artificial economic crisis that is spinning out of the Sindh governments abuse of the 18th Ammendment.
Karachi being the business hub of the country that is responsible for generating 70% of the country’s revenue is facing swear crisis in terms of it paralyzed essential industries, the function of which PM has repeatedly highlighted as essential for the smooth running of the country and food supply to the people.
Moreover, small traders are asked to pay huge amounts of money in order to stay functional 7 days of the week, as currently they are allowed to function twice a week. Similarly, various factories are being sealed under the false impression of SOPs being enforced.
In the same line of action “illegal donations” termed as “Bhatta” is also being demanded from factory owners, shopkeepers, workshops and various food outlets in case they wish to remain functional.
Can a political party become so characterless that instead of uniting with the entire country to combat the Pandemic, Sindh government is pestering the system and is laying down a perfect foundation for Anarchy in the country.
