ECC approves Rs 24 billion PM package for farmers.
A meeting of the Economic Co-ordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, in which the Prime Minister’s package worth Rs. 24 billion was approved.
It was decided in the ECC meeting chaired by the Finance Advisor that the amount of Rs 24 billion of the Prime Minister’s package would be used for Rabi crops, especially wheat.

According to a statement issued on the sidelines of the ECC meeting chaired by the Finance Minister, the meeting also approved a subsidy of Rs 1,000 per sack on DAP, Potassium and K Fertilizers.
The statement said that it was decided at the ECC meeting that 70 percent subsidy on fertilizer would be borne by the federal government while 30 percent would be borne by the provincial governments.
