Recovery of billion of rupees by Punjab government
Chairman Public Accounts Committee Punjab Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari has revealed that the Punjab government has achieved great success in recovering the looted wealth and by recovering Rs 25 billion looted with the connivance of government officials and contractors has deposited it in the treasury.
Chairman PAC Punjab said that the investigation has revealed that big government officials and contractors were involved in corruption and kickbacks. He said that the contractors and their companies have been blacklisted forever.
Yawar Bukhari said that the Punjab government has achieved such a great success which is a matter of happiness. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also been informed about this development. He also said that the recovery was made due to irregularities in the audit of the Public Accounts Committee.
According to Yawar Bukhari, the Rs 25 billion recovered has been received in a short span of just 14 months and deposited in the treasury.
He said that corrupt and improper payments were made by government officials to corrupt contractors which resulted in loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer which has now been recovered and returned to the exchequer.
