The government has decided to install 15 smog control towers at various places in Lahore to control environmental pollution.

With the onset of winter, smog has deepened its shadows across Punjab. Two days ago, the rains certainly reduced the effects of smog, but it has started spreading again in other cities including Lahore.

Lahore is ranked 20th in the list of most polluted cities due to smog. The government has taken this issue seriously and on the recommendation of the Environment Commission has decided to install 15 smog control towers at various places in the city.

Lahore city has an air quality index of 112. The highest pollution has been recorded in Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, FC Bridge and Garhi Shahu. Citizens say that the government should take strict action against factories and vehicles polluting the environment. In the same way, the city’s air can be protected from further pollution.
