The government has started preparations to give a big relief package to the people during the holy month of Ramadan. In the Ramadan package, 20 essential items will be sold at cheaper prices. Special subsidy will be given to make the items cheaper. The liaison committee will announce the Ramadan package tomorrow.
He said in a press conference with government economic team Federal Minister Hamad Azhar and Ishrat Hussain that economic institutions will be strengthened and given status under the 21st century. Strengthening and empowering institutions is a priority. Approved, these laws will stabilize the economy.
The SBP has approved the draft Amendment Bill 2021. Under which the SBP is to be empowered, the term of the SBP Governor will be extended by 5 years, the role of the SBP is to control inflation and make the stock exchange free.
He said that SBP was being held accountable in Parliament for holding it accountable, similarly the Monetary Fiscal Board was being abolished, now the decision of the chief executive of the companies would not be taken by the boards but by the ministers.
Many things have been exempted in the tax system, the purpose of this law is to reduce the exemption, the tax system will be made uniform, the tax system will not be given special privileges to some sections. Amendments have been made to improve the tax system. He said that the Economic Co-ordination Committee would announce the Ramadan package tomorrow, adding that about 20 more items would be sold at cheaper prices in the Ramadan package.
On this occasion, Dr. Ishrat Hussain said that before no one knew how many institutions we have. There are 441 institutions in our country. Plans will be made to run government institutions. All of them are divided into 2 classes. Strengthening institutions is our priority. Dr Ishrat Hussain said that a plan would be drawn up to run government institutions. At first no one knew how many institutions we had.
State institutions are being reformed.
